My favorite and most memorable assignment this year is most likely the rap that Paul, Sean, and I made or The Tickler infomercial. It was really memorable because I had always wanted to do a rap and it really stood out. One of my favorite parts of it was going around town filming it. I think the video added a lot to the rap and it was just cool to actually make a hip hop production.
One other assignment that also was extremely fun to make and personally was just as good as the rap if not better was "the Tickler the whole idea of the video was all mine and filming it with Paul and Dan was a blast. Of all the projects I personally think this one was genius and the best in the class even though it probably wasn't as funny to other people who enjoyed the pleasure of seeing me embarrass myself on you tube.

A good experience with poetry
I have had only a few poetry experiences prior to this year. The main connection I have with poetry is through all the rap that I listen to and the artist's way of rhyming to a beat. Another experience I have had with poetry is when I was elementary school I would read Shell shilverstein books before bed.The final experience with poetry I have had is Dr. Seuss and his books Green Eggs and Ham was the first book I ever read.
where i see poetry most in my life is definitively through my iPod. i think some of the best poems are definitively in my collection of hip-hop music. I have had a number of great experiences through music/poetry in my iPod but one that stands out is when i was listening to an Atmosphere song and I could really relate to what he was saying and it brought out some emotion, that to me is what poetry is about.
In elementary school i distinctly remember reading Shell Shilverstein books for hours and the poems sometimes made me laugh and other times I was spooked by the creepy illustrations. I distinctly remember the book The Edge of the World and a poem about a king who only ate peanut butter sandwiches. Also I remember the illustrations very well and how all of them were the same style. Another poem that i distinctly remember is one about the kid who is making excuses not to go to school then finds out it is actually Saturday and is all better.
I also remember that the first book I ever read was Green Eggs and Ham that book was just plain silly. That book I remember had only fifty so words in it and used to crack me up. Also Dr Seuss wrote the book The Lorax which to this day is still fun to read and really had a deep message. I remember when I finally Got the message in the Lorax and it kinda hit me how sad it was, it definitively made me feel like i was growing up.
When I think of poetry for some reason i instantly think of a Haiku. on a deeper level though i also think of my music and usually wish I was listening to it than learning about poetry.
