One of the most important conflicts is Romeo versus society. Romeo kills Tybalt in rage for killing Mercutio and is sentenced by the prince to be banished, "A gentler judgement vanish'd from his lips, not bodys death, but bodys banishment.". This conflict leads into Romeo not seeing Juliet and their downfall as lovers. furthermore this is important because this conflict defines the rest of the play after Romeos banished.
This conflict isn't necessarily present in my life but it is a conflict that is very common in society. You see a lot of cases where it seems its one man against society and/or an innocent man made guilty. The significance of this conflict is that it is a very powerful conflict, it is present in Martin Luther Kings whole life as he versed society and challenged people to change. people in general deal in conflict depending on who they are, one type like to plain avoid conflict and the other type likes to start/deal with conflict upfront.

connecting with romeo and juliet
I personally am connecting with the fact that romeo has a hard time getting over girls. I'm no stud but a girl can definitely have an effect on me, as in Romeo's case he almost has depression over a girl he barely knows. That may be a little too much but the same feelings are there.
The reading at home is personally hard to understand. The language and the way Shakespeare writes makes it hard to understand what is really going on. I personally use spark notes or cliff-notes after i read the chapter to understand what happened in easier to understand context. The annotations in class is helpful and makes it easier to understand the material.
