In my opinion the book couldn't be written better. The dialogue is true and seems so real and raw. Furthermore, unlike most books this novel is uncensored and shows how people his age talk and act. I do think that the predicament that holden is in is almost to depressing and pathetic for what a pitiful man he is; but in his own kind of way he's a great guy.
the theme of the book so far is holden trying to find a true home, a place where he belonged and felt like he mattered. Ackley the slop in Holden's dorm is treated unfairly be Holden but at the same time I think that he likes Ackley. Ackley is a person who holden can relate to and or feel bad for. Holdens whole jerk persona is really just a thin shell that hides his forgiving, depressed, and even self loathing being.
My creative project so far is most likely going to be a rap of some sort that puts the whole story and it's message to a stylin beat. Honestly Catcher in the rye is different than any other book I have ever read. The type of writing and the plot in general are very foreign to me.
This was very deep. I can't wait to hear your rap!(:
