dishonesty in The importance of Being earnest

     I think that it is showing how you have to lie in the pursuit of pleasure. also it shows that honesty is boring. The humorous part of lying is sarcasm or tricking someone completely. Like when Algernon came to jacks house since Jack lied about having a brother so much a complete stranger was able to pretend it was him. Also The silly thing about ernest was that the two guys who wanted to be
     I think what Oscar Wildes is trying to say is that lying is an everyday thing. Each character told numerous lies some were bigger (like the fake brother) and some were little white lies. I think that he was also slightly tying to say that lying is the key to the pursuit of pleasure.
